  • What do bespoke shoes mean?
Bespoke shoes are made to measure footwear that is designed and crafted specifically for an individual. Bespoke shoes are tailored to your exact measurements, style preferences, and specific design details. The process involves consultations, pattern creation, fittings, and skilled craftsmanship to produce a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes.
  • What is the difference between bespoke and made to order?
Bespoke shoes are fully customised and tailored to your individual measurements and design preferences. The process involves creating a completely new pattern, choosing specific materials, and crafting shoes that are unique to your exact specifications. Bespoke shoes offer more personal attention to detail and a higher degree of customisation. Made-to-order shoes are created based on your selected design and size from a set range of styles, materials, and options. While the shoes are custom-made just for you, they are based on existing patterns and designs allowing you to have a personalised experience at a fraction of the cost of Bespoke shoes.
  • What does the initial Bespoke consultation include and how much does it cost?
The initial consultation fee is £200 (subject to location) and includes preparation, transportation, the appointment, and post-appointment work such as creating a technical drawing, analysing your design, and determining the timeline and final cost. The fee is credited towards your bespoke order.
  • What is the starting price for bespoke shoes and what does it include?
Bespoke shoes start at £2500 for a standard court shoe. This includes the initial consultation, bespoke pattern development, mock-up creation, first fitting, final production, and final fitting. Additional design details may incur extra costs.
  • How much would an additional pair of shoes cost?
A second pair of the same design is available at 30% less than the original price as we already have the design analysis & technicalities outlined along with a pattern made. A new design (with the same last/forme) will require a full bespoke process with a new cost evaluation needed, including design/pattern review, material selection, technical drawing, mock-up, fittings, and final production. As usual we provide timelines and progress updates throughout the process.
  • Can I request custom design elements?
Absolutely. We work closely with you to incorporate custom design elements, materials, and finishes to create a truly unique pair of shoes. Additional costs may apply based on complexity.
  • How long does it take to make a pair of bespoke shoes?
We aim to complete a pair of bespoke shoes in 4-6 months dependent on current workflow. The entire process typically takes several months, depending on the complexity of the design, material availability, & current workflow . We will provide an estimated timeline during the complimentary Bespoke Discovery Call and keep you informed at every stage.
  • Do I get to keep my last/formes?
The lasts remain the property of Ego Atelier. We absorb the cost and effort of creating them to ensure a perfect fit, allowing us to craft exceptional shoes tailored specifically for you.
  • Will you refurbish my shoes?
Yes, we offer a full refurbishment service through our concierge. The first refurbishment is complimentary, with shipping charges covered by the client. We will arrange pickup and drop-off via FedEx for your convenience.
  • Do you offer gift options for bespoke shoes?
Yes, we provide bespoke shoe gift consultations and gift certificates, allowing your recipient to experience the bespoke process from start to finish.
  • What does “made to order” mean?
Made to order means that each pair of shoes is crafted specifically for you. An experience that guides you through a journey tailoring each step to your unique preferences. This ensures a personalised fit, reduces waste, and allows for customisation to suit your preferences.
  • How do I place an order for made-to-order shoes?
To place an order, navigate to the Boutique page, select your desired style, and simply fill out the order request form on our website. We will contact you within 48 hours (business days) to reconfirm details, provide measurement instructions, and guide you through the process.
  • How do I know what size to select
Select the size you typically purchase when buying footwear. Please note that every brand follows different sizing scales and width standards, meaning a "standard size" is never truly universal. This is why we require foot measurements from each client to ensure the best fit. At Ego Atelier, we go beyond traditional sizing methods by prioritizing the heel-to-ball measurement, which plays a crucial role in achieving a well-balanced and comfortable fit. Our unique approach allows us to craft shoes that align with the natural structure of your foot, providing exceptional support and couture-level comfort.
  • How long does it take to receive my shoes?
The crafting process typically takes between 3 to 4 weeks, depending on the complexity of your order and current production schedules. The timeline will be finalised before we confirm your order. We will keep you updated throughout the process.
  • Can I customise my shoes?
Yes, Ego Atelier offers customisation options, including material selection, colours, and unique design elements to create a pair of shoes that reflects your personal style. If you would like a custom design or have very specific feet issues then we would recommend having bespoke/made to measure footwear crafted.
  • How do I provide my measurements?
After placing your order and confirming details, we will send you simple measurement instructions with a visual guide. We are always available to assist you with any questions you may have.
  • What if my shoes don't fit perfectly?
We take great care to ensure accurate details, but if any issues arise, please contact us immediately. We will work with you to make necessary adjustments.
  • Can I cancel or modify my order after placing it?
Since each pair is handcrafted specifically for you, modifications or cancellations can be made within 2 weeks of placing your order in accordance with the Consumer Act- known as the cooling off period. After this period, production will begin, and changes may not be possible.
  • What materials do you use for your shoes?
